What are the causes of dehydration?
Exercise: Prolonged and intense exercise can cause the body to lose fluids and electrolytes through sweating (1).
Inadequate fluid intake: Inadequate water consumption can reduce the amount of fluid in the body and lead to dehydration (2).
High temperatures: Hot weather and high humidity can cause more fluid loss from the body (1).
Diarrhea and vomiting: Diarrhea and vomiting can cause fluid and electrolyte loss from the body (3).
Increased frequency of urination : In some cases, increased frequency of urination can reduce the amount of fluid in the body (4).
Alcohol consumption: Alcohol can reduce the amount of fluid in the body by increasing the frequency of urination (5).
